Sydney Sweeney’s near-nude ad shows the power of ragebait marketing

But a provocative new commercial, featuring a near-nude Sydney Sweeney, suggests controversy could be the real selling point.
An ad for American sports prediction market Novig has rattled the internet, largely due to its heavily sexualised depiction of the Hollywood actor.
The clip shows Sweeney in various states of undress, concealed only by sporting equipment, positioning Novig as a place to trade sports odds — and not much else.
The campaign has stoked vitriol in the days since its launch.
