NAB’s online banking services, smartphone app, and share trading platform on Wednesday suffered an unexpected outage preventing bank customers from sending or receiving digital payments.

The bank says most services were restored by late afternoon, with some business customers continuing to face issues into the evening.

Disruptions began shortly after midday, affecting NAB’s core online banking system, along with the business-centred NAB Connect platform, NAB Trade, NAB Broker, and the JBWere wealth management firm.

Online banking customers were unable to log on to the platform, with users also locked out of the mobile app.
